Jim Betro is a 1983 graduate of Syracuse University. He attended Antioch School of Law and Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., where he obtained his Juris Doctor and LL.M.
in
Taxation in 1986 and 1987 respectively. Jim was also an Editor of the Antioch Law Journal. Upon graduation, Jim worked at a major New York City law firm prior to his moving on to practice law as a tax consultant with Prentice Hall in Englewood Cliffs, NJ.
Jim returned to the Oneida area in 1991 and was a partner with The Kiley Law Firm, with a concentration in Real Estate Law. In 2001, Jim left the Kiley Firm and ultimately founded Vindigni & Betro. Jim's current areas of practice include real estate, estate planning, wills and trusts, probate, corporations, LLCs, title insurance and vehicle and traffic law.
Jim is a member of the Knights of Columbus and a Director of the Madison-Cortland ARC Building Futures Foundation. He is also a past president of the Oneida's Club and the Sherrill-Kenwood Community Chest. He is also a former member of the Sherrill Rotary Club and former Director of the United Way of Greater Oneida, and the Madison-Cortland ARC. Jim is licensed to practice law in New York and Pennsylvania. He is also admitted in the US District Court for the Northern District of NY. Jim has two children and resides in Oneida, N.Y.
