Scott Swayze

Currently admitted to New Jersey and NY State Federal courts only, Scott first became interested in the law as a child growing up around those in the local law enforcement and judicial communities. His father was a Sergeant with the NY State Police who served much of his career as Station Commander of the Sylvan Beach barracks. In 2000, the new Sylvan Beach barracks were dedicated in memory of Scott's dad. Scott's grandfather and great-grandfather were also active members of the judicial community, having served as judges in Madison County for several decades.

Personally, Scott's interest in the law increased while serving as a police officer in Ilion, NY and this experience motivated him to enter law school in 2007. Since 2002, Scott has enjoyed teaching at the elementary, high school and collegiate levels. When not at Vindigni, Betro, & Getman PLLC, Scott can be found teaching law, government and criminal justice classes at SUNY Delhi, where he is an Associate Professor and Inspector with New York State University Police. Scott is a certified General Topics instructor with the New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) and teaches current and future police officers at many local police academies.

Scott takes pleasure in serving his community outside of work too, where he is a member and past president of the Sherrill Rotary Club, board member of VVS Dollars for Scholars, and a Captain with the Sherrill-Kenwood Volunteer Fire Dept. Scott also enjoys kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, baseball, and golf.
